How can I make a Canon PIXMA MP250 printer work in Linux?

Canon actually makes drivers for this printer.

Some have gotten it to work by installing cupsys-driver-gutenprint and using the driver for Canon Pixma MP 220.

I would try the Linux drivers from Canon and using the second option as a last resort.
