Ubuntu Rip DVD

Someone suggested that I use Ubuntu to rip DVDs. I don’t normally use Linux, but I’ve been told I can put it on a USB drive and use it on my PC or Mac.
How do you rip DVDs with Ubuntu. Can I convert to MP4 or AVI or right to another DVD or ISO?

K9Copy is probably your best option if you are using a Linux Desktop or laptop computer.
You can use it to backup a dvd to an ISO file and then burn it to a new blank DVD. You can also use the software to backup a DVD to a video file.
