He was a DJ on local radio stations in the Quad Cities like WQUA, KSTT, KIIK, KUUL, WLLR. I heard he went to WGN in Chicago, many years ago.

Spike O’Dell, who was known in the Quad Cities as “Spike at the Mike,” left KIIK-FM 103.7 (Now WLLR-FM 103.7/KUUL-FM 101.3) for WGN in 1987. He was the afternoon host until the popular morning host, Bob Collins passed away in a tragic small airplane accident on February 8, 2000.

Spike was chosen as Bob’s replacement and hosted the morning show on WGN radio until his retirement on December 15, 2008.
