How does someone make a reasonable figure as to what a domain they have is worth?

Are these domain name appraisal services worth while and worth the cost?

Ultimately the value of domain is no more than what a potential buyer will pay and no less than what the owner is willing to sell the domain name.

Most domains are pretty much worthless unless having them is important to a potential buyer.

There are services and website that attempt to place a value on a website. If the website has large amounts of traffic, a lot links to the site from credible websites, top page results for keyword terms in search engine results, are just a few measurable elements that would be of value to other parties.

Single and two name domain names can be of value to a potential buyer as well.

My opinion is that these services are only worthwhile if you have a domain that has the positive attributes that others would want, and you plan to sell the domain. Especially if you have interested buyers are willing and able to purchase the domain.
